today
Today, July 12th 2009, i started blogging. This is in hopes of creating a better future for my Ellis Craft Home Improvements business. it is my goal to reach out to people in my area and inform them as to what I do and maybe give some knowledge regarding somoe home improvement items to help people out some. Starting Mr. Silers home remodel tomorrow! Dont have workers comp insurance yet. Trying to find a licensed and insured contractor to help with this job and not have to pay workers comp insurance. That stuff is 40% the cost of whatever wage you are paying for carpentry. Worker gets paid $20/hr I pay $28/hour. I dont have the budget for that in my jobs yet.
At some point I will, but now 2009, for the most part Noone is remodeling.
Its wise to have a database of contractors to go to in this situation to come in and take care of this project, with quality, get paid and ask for a referral. Install yard signs out front, write in your blog make videos. Read contracting periodicals
So an update,
ReplyDeleteThe demo work is complete. Who I am going to hire for the job is still a mystery.
Contractors want too much money, But I dont want the risk of hiring non insured workers.
I'm exploring new teritory here, learning everyday.
The wise thing to do is hire only licensed insured contractors. If the budget isnt in this job for them, then we need to find more prosperous jobs. Ramp up the website, the blog. A new video, change things around. Promote yourself to the more established clientele with your professionalism.
